Everything you need to know about Geen, our coffee, and how it all works.
Shipping and delivery
Where do you ship?
We ship to all EU countries. Orders are dispatched from Spain. We don’t currently ship outside the European Union, but we’re working on expanding.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is free on all orders over 50 euros. For orders below that, a flat rate of 5.90 euros applies regardless of destination within the EU.
How long does delivery take?
Orders placed before 2 PM CET ship the same day. Delivery typically takes 2 to 4 business days within the EU depending on your country. Spain: 1 to 2 days. Central EU: 2 to 3 days. Northern and Eastern EU: 3 to 4 days.
Do you offer tracked shipping?
Yes, every order comes with full tracking. You’ll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order is dispatched.
What carrier do you use?
We primarily use DHL and GLS for EU shipments. The carrier is selected automatically based on your destination for the best speed and reliability.
Product and quality
What does specialty green coffee mean?
Specialty coffee has its own quality scoring system — the Geen score. Based on SCA methodology but incorporating additional variables, every Geen coffee scores 80+. Most of our selection sits between 84 and 89. The score reflects cup quality — complexity, sweetness, acidity, body, and absence of defects.
How fresh is your green coffee?
We only sell current-crop coffee. Each lot’s harvest date is listed on the product page and spec sheet. Green coffee, when stored properly, stays fresh for 12 to 18 months after harvest. We rotate our stock seasonally so you’re always getting recently harvested beans.
How should I store green coffee?
Keep it in a cool, dry, dark place — ideally between 15 and 22 degrees with low humidity. The bags are resealable, but if you’re storing for longer than a few weeks, an airtight container works best. Avoid garages, kitchens near stoves, and anywhere with strong odours. Green coffee absorbs smells easily.
What sizes do you offer?
Two formats: 1 kg bags for exploration and home roasting, and 5 kg bags for micro-business roasters and serious home roasters who know what they want. The 5 kg format offers a lower price per kilogram.
What’s included with each lot?
Every lot comes with a full spec sheet: country, region, farm, producer, altitude, varietal, process, harvest date, Geen score, SCA score, density, moisture, water activity, cupping notes, and roast guidance. All of this is available both on the product page and on a card included in your shipment.
Do you sell roasted coffee?
No. Geen is exclusively green coffee. We believe the roast is your craft — we provide the raw material and the data to help you make the most of it.
Roasting
I’m new to home roasting. Is Geen for me?
Absolutely. Many of our customers started exactly where you are. Every lot includes roast guidance with recommended levels and temperatures, and our community on Discord is full of experienced roasters happy to help. Start with a 1 kg bag, follow the suggestions, and adjust from there.
Do you provide roast profiles?
Yes, in two ways. First, every lot page includes Geen’s own roast guidance with recommended parameters for the Aillio Bullet (charge temp, power settings, development time). Second, our community section shows real roast profiles shared by other Geen customers with different roasters and batch sizes.
I don’t have an Aillio Bullet. Can I still use your guidance?
Of course. While our reference profiles are written for the Bullet (because that’s what most of our community uses), the principles apply to any roaster. The key data — recommended roast level, first crack temperature, and development ratio — is universal. Community members also share profiles for other machines like the Kaldi, Huky, and Gene Cafe.
What batch size do you recommend?
For the Aillio Bullet, we typically recommend 600 to 800g per batch for optimal heat transfer and evenness. For 1 kg roasters from other brands, follow your manufacturer’s guidance. The spec sheet includes density data that can help you decide — denser beans often benefit from slightly smaller batches.
Orders and payments
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and bank transfer (SEPA) for EU customers.
Can I modify or cancel an order?
If your order hasn’t been dispatched yet, yes — email us and we’ll sort it out. Once it’s shipped, we can’t modify it, but you can return it (see our return policy below).
What’s your return policy?
If there’s a quality issue with your coffee, we’ll replace it or refund you — no questions asked. For other returns, we accept unopened bags within 14 days of delivery. Contact us and we’ll arrange the return. We cover return shipping for quality issues; for change-of-mind returns, shipping is on you.
Do you offer invoices for businesses?
Yes. If you need a VAT invoice, add your company details and VAT number during checkout. The invoice will be included with your order confirmation email. For intra-EU B2B transactions, we apply the reverse charge mechanism where applicable.
Subscriptions
How do subscriptions work?
Choose a plan — Explorer (1 kg per month) or Roaster (5 kg per month) — and tell us your flavour preferences. We’ll curate a selection each month based on what’s in season and what matches your taste. You can choose a fixed origin if you prefer consistency, or let us surprise you.
Can I skip a month or cancel?
Yes to both, anytime. There’s no commitment and no penalty. Manage your subscription from your account page, or just email us. If you skip, your next delivery simply moves to the following month.
Do subscriptions save money?
Yes. Subscribers get a discount on every shipment compared to one-off purchases, plus free shipping on every delivery regardless of order value. The exact saving depends on your plan.
Can I change my subscription preferences?
Anytime. Switch between Explorer and Roaster, change your flavour preferences, update your delivery address, or swap between rotating and fixed origins — all from your account page.
